Scheme: The new parkway station opened in 2008, with a single platform, ticket office and waiting room with rest facilities, and a 500 space car park, was part of a Chiltern Railways’ route improvement scheme.

Background

Ian Walters (supported by Neil, Mark and Julie) led the process of securing funding, plus all contractual, commercial, development and property management matters for the development, including:

  • Production of a successful scheme bid for Community Infrastructure Finance Fund allocation from the DfT and funding from the
    County Council.
  • Production and negotiation of agreements (over 50, plus side letters) to allow the delivery of the scheme including leases, underleases, asset protection and concessions.
  • Commercial strategy as well as development of the detail for this highly-complex financial scheme.
  • Development of contracts for contractors.
  • Programme management to ensure the scheme was delivered on time, to budget and to specification.

Outcome

Through the effective working partnerships of all involved, Aylesbury Vale was delivered on schedule.
