A number of our colleagues recently worked with partners from Morgan Sindall and AECOM, who are all currently collaborating on the delivery of the Northumberland Line, to volunteer their time and expertise in support of another transformative regional initiative.
The Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway (near Ashington) is currently closed and being restored by volunteers. The team braved the heat and laid 50 metres of narrow gauge railway track in just one day – something that would normally take volunteers an entire month to complete.
Members from across the Northumberland Line project, including Northumberland County Council, Network Rail and SLC Property, have also supported the volunteering efforts on other days.
We were delighted to join up with some of the wider team and support this community initiative. Thanks for having us!
