Invitation for 15 years of
SLC from Ian Walters

I would like to invite you to an event on Thursday 8th August to celebrate SLC becoming 15 years old in 2024.

I had no (well, maybe just a little) doubt in 2009 that SLC would succeed, and it would do so by offering something different. And here we are, 15 years later, and what a journey we’ve had. I’m incredibly proud of what we have created, and that we’ve stayed true to our values along the way, helping our clients progress railway schemes that improve people’s lives and leave a lasting legacy.

Over this time we have expanded from just me to a company with nearly 100 employees. Our impact on the railway landscape is clear and evident and has been substantial, with multiple new stations and railway bridges added to the map, as well as master planning, refurbishment and renewal schemes.  And along the way we have won multiple awards, doing what we do and continuing to improve as a business in the way we look after our employees.

From our inaugural project at Stratford-Upon-Avon Parkway to our work since then on over 120 projects, your support along the way has been instrumental, and means a lot.

I hope you can join me to celebrate this fantastic milestone.

Thank you,

Ian Walters

The Bond – Digbeth

In the 7th century, communities first settled in Birmingham’s Digbeth, attracted by the River Rea’s clean water and fertile soil. The Bond, initially built as a gasworks in 1837, later became an ice factory, then a canal logistics warehouse, and eventually housed HP Sauce production.

It is now a venue used for filming and events. The Bond Canopy is a canal-side oasis offering a tranquil space in the heart of Digbeth with great food and drink to celebrate this milestone.
