Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, joined Kenilworth MP and Attorney General, the Rt Hon Jeremy Wright QC MP, to visit the site of the new Kenilworth Railway Station today (23rd February).
Under a framework agreement, as Rail Advisors to Warwickshire County Council, SLC Rail is managing the project with Warwickshire to create a new railway station for Kenilworth.
SLC Rail has been closely involved from the early stages of the project, helping Warwickshire County Council to develop detailed plans for the station, track and signalling. SLC were also instrumental in securing funding via a successful bid to the Department for Transport’s New Stations Fund then procuring a contractor to deliver the project through to GRIP Stage 8.
The project will soon see demolition starting on-site, in preparation for construction of the new station building.
