Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council today announced principal contractor and the project manager for the A45 bridge replacement. Carillion have been appointed as lead contractor and SLC Rail as project managers.
This follows a successful engagement during which SLC Rail advised Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council on rail issues around the project. SLC Rail had led discussions with colleagues at Network Rail, successfully resolving challenges around signalling and overhead power lines, and marshalling technical acceptance of the proposed bridge solution.
The project is to include construction of a temporary road bridge, demolition of the old bridge and construction of a new, wider bridge with additional carriageway plus pedestrian and cycle routes.
