SLC has officially been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ 2024 by Great Place To Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.

Officially announced last week at the prestigious Best Workplaces Awards, the company ranked 16 in the Medium-sized business category. This is the 4th time SLC has been recognised as a Best Workplace.

Sam Uren, Director of SLC Rail said: “We’re delighted to once again be one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™, particularly as our company expanded our number of employees by around one-third last year.

“Our employees help our clients to make rail projects happen, so we make sure their experience and wellbeing come first. That’s why we introduced many new employee benefits last year, particularly to support with the cost of living crisis.

“This included benefits such as access to free financial coaching, access to an employee discount portal to help people save money shopping and access to backup care for working parents and carers. In addition, we have also worked really hard on embedding our SLC culture through a number of employee-led initiatives, ensuring our team continuously delivers excellence to our clients.”

“This recognition is no mean feat and highlights companies across the UK that excel in fostering high levels of trust in leadership, instilling pride in their workforce, and cultivating strong camaraderie among colleagues. These crucial elements collectively contribute to creating workplaces where employees feel they can truly be themselves and thrive in a supportive environment. Congratulations to SLC Rail for being part of our 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces™ List.” said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK.

Great Place To Work® performed rigorous evaluations of hundreds of employee survey responses alongside Culture Audit™ submissions from leaders at each company to create the 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces™ list. They then used these data insights to benchmark the effectiveness of companies’ employee value propositions against the culture their employees actually experience. Only those businesses who achieve the highest scores after evaluation receive Best Workplaces™ status.
