  • Integrated Management System
    An Integrated Management System (IMS) is a set of processes and practices that enable an organisation to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency.

The environmental policy will be available for all employees and sub-contractors and will be made available to the general public via the company website. Reviewed on an annual basis to assess its effectiveness, compliance with environmental law and to ensure that it reflects changing needs and circumstances.

SLC Rail’s commitment to environmental sustainability is considered central to the business culture and as such is intended to form part of, and to support, all SLC Rail activities. Management recognises its corporate responsibility, not only by reference to the Company’s obligations under environmental and associated legislation.   • Designing a program for regular review of environmental aspects and impacts of our business, conducted through a r isk-based audit plan and corrective action program to manage environmental risks;
  • Regularly reviewing and reporting on our environmental management performance to allow a better understanding of our environmental progress and performance.
  • Developing the knowledge and skills of our people and providing resources to facilitate the fulfilment of our environmental responsibilities and goals, including by fostering both accountability for, and recognition of, individual actions;
  • Where appropriate, seeking to positively influence key suppliers to improve their environmental performance and thereby minimise the lifecycle impacts of SLC Rail’s operations.
  • Proactively manage the aspects of waste, recycling, energy usage, flora and fauna and noise, dust and light nuisance across the business operations.

All employees are equally responsible for complying with this Environmental Policy and are encouraged to suggest and discuss improvements.

This policy will be reviewed annually or as a result of significant amendments to applicable environmental legislation or organisational change.
