The Northumberland Line has won the Major Project Award at the Modern Railways Railway Innovation Awards last week.
This is a very special project that is transforming communities by improving access to jobs, education, and other opportunities. It’s also one of the largest third-party funded rail upgrades in the UK, developed by a local authority, showcasing the power of local authorities taking the lead on infrastructure development.
We’re proud to have worked on this project to help the local authority, Northumberland County Council, navigate complex rules around rail safety and design development, while also developing a strategic business case and procurement strategy for the project with AECOM.
