Sam Uren has been appointed Engineering Director of rail consulting and project management specialist, SLC Rail.
Sam is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the rail industry. Over the last five years she has applied her expertise to SLC Rail projects, including her role as Project Manager of the multi-award winning A45 south bridge replacement scheme, and more latterly as Senior Project Manager for Worcestershire Parkway.
In this new role she will oversee all engineering activities, ensuring consistency of approach across all schemes, challenging and streamlining processes where possible, and developing the engineering capability of the business including feasibility and outline design stages of projects.
Sam commented, “Since the beginning, I have seen SLC Rail grow by providing an exceptional project development and delivery service to clients on third party schemes. I am delighted to be able to join the company now as a director and shareholder.”

SLC Rail is working with local and regional government across the UK, providing strategic rail advice, securing funding for stations and other infrastructure, and delivering rail projects. Notable engagements include the Coventry Rail Investment Strategy, A45 Overbridge Replacement and Worcestershire Parkway Station.
