Another significant milestone has been achieved in the construction of the A45 road bridge over the West Coast Main Line.
Overnight on the 26/27th March, two pairs of braced beams were lifted into position, forming the basis of the second span of the new, widened road crossing.
The following weekend, the two pairs were braced together and GRP panels were laid across the beams. From this temporary platform, workers placed the steel reinforcement. At the end of April, the concrete was poured in another overnight operation, to create the new deck.
The new bridge is on track for opening in September.
