SLC Rail, the third-party rail schemes specialists, has been recognised by Great Place To Work™ for ‘Excellence in Wellbeing’.
The endorsement is based on employee responses to questions related to six dimensions that drive a culture of employee wellbeing: work environment, mental and physical health, financial security, interpersonal relationships, work-life balance and fulfilment at work.
SLC introduced new wellbeing initiatives following the global pandemic to further support colleagues. This included company mental health first aiders, a new wellbeing area on its Intranet, performance coaching, health webinars and weekly meditation classes.
Ian Walters, Managing Director of SLC Rail said: “I’m extremely proud that SLC has been recognised for Excellence in Wellbeing, because it shows how our efforts are positively contributing to the wellbeing of employees.
“Wellbeing is a core focus at SLC and it’s extremely important to us that all our employees are happy and healthy at work.”
Karen White, Wellbeing Champion at SLC Rail has been working with the company on its wellbeing culture strategy. “We’ve been doing so much to support our colleagues with wellbeing and that’s only possible because it has been prioritised by our leadership team.
“We’re already developing further initiatives, which have come about through listening to the results of our monthly employee Pulse Survey. One of the initiatives that we’re about to roll out is to help all staff to feel more comfortable having open conversations with others about mental health.”
“We congratulate SLC Rail on achieving their Excellence in Wellbeing recognition,” said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. “Organisations which put the employee experience at the heart of their business, gain their employees’ trust and in turn are truly able to build great workplace culture that delivers outstanding business results.”
This latest recognition comes just three months after SLC Rail was awarded Great Place to Work-Certification™ further showcasing its commitment to creating a positive and enjoyable workplace.
