SLC Rail, a rail development and delivery specialist, has won three awards at last night’s New Civil Engineer Awards showcasing the company’s impact in the transport and rail sector and creating a great place to work.
The rail consultancy, which primarily supports local authorities, developers and operators to make rail projects happen, won Impact in Local Transport, Impact in Rail and Best Place to Work – SME Consulting Firm.
Ian Walters, Managing Director of SLC Rail said: “We take great pride in our role helping develop the railway for local communities across the country and we want to achieve this by fostering a workplace that is fun, supportive and enjoyable for our people. This creates a passion, creativity and drive to help our projects be a success.
“It is incredibly rewarding to have the judges acknowledge our impact and successful blend of strategic vision and practical delivery in local transport schemes.”
NCE editor Gavin Pearson said: “These awards recognise the best of the best in civil engineering consultancies and associated organisations that support them to do their work in the UK. Be it impact in their sector, creating great places to work or driving innovation, diversity and social impact.
“Our judges for the Impact awards commented that SLC showed a good mixture of strategic intent and real delivery and was a one stop shop to support development on the railway. In the best place to work category the judges particularly liked the approach to wellbeing, using various methods and could see that SLC was a really fun place to work and worthy of this award.”
