Worcestershire County Council has published details of its proposed strategy for attracting and supporting economic investment and growth, by delivering transport infrastructure and services to tackle congestion and improve quality of life.

The Worcestershire Rail Investment Strategy was developed by specialists at SLC Rail and partners to provide detailed needs analysis, specific rail service proposals and robust economic justification and prioritisation of investment.

The plan focuses on key themes for rail service development:

  • Two trains per hour Worcester to London Paddington
  • One train per hour Kidderminster, Droitwich Spa, Worcester to London Paddington
  • Additional calls at Worcestershire Parkway for Bristol-Manchester and Plymouth-Newcastle services
  • Regional service between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove, Worcester and Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester and Bristol
