SLC, the third-party rail scheme specialists, has supported AECOM in winning a place on Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM’s) Transport Professional Services (TPS) framework.
The company will provide AECOM with strategic and specialist advice in areas including transport systems, operations, policy, modelling and analysis.
Ian Walters, Managing Director of SLC Rail said: “Rail is essential for the economic prosperity of regions and we’re pleased to be working with AECOM on this framework to support TfGM with its ambitious transport plans.
“Our expertise in creating forward-thinking, intelligent and viable transport strategies will help TfGM to improve transport for Greater Manchester and beyond.”
SLC and AECOM are also working together to deliver the design of the Northumberland Line, providing project management, operations and advisory services.
Stephen Gleave, Cities Lead for Manchester, AECOM, said: “Transport remains the backbone of economic strength and this important new framework is vital in supporting Greater Manchester’s ambitious growth plans, as well as helping the region achieve its net zero 2038 ambition. AECOM’s latest appointment builds on our long-standing relationship with TfGM and enables us to bring our full breadth of professional services to support the continued improvement of Greater Manchester’s transport network for its residents, businesses and visitors.”
The new framework replaces TfGM’s previous TPS framework, which came to an end in March 2021.
