Five employees from SLC Rail have raised £790 for Cancer Research UK by participating in the Wolf Run, a demanding 10 km run and obstacle course filled with mud and challenging terrains.
The Wolf Run, an annual event in Leicestershire, inspired the team from SLC, a rail development and delivery specialist consultancy, to assemble a team as part of its ’15 for 15 Years’ initiative to undertake 15 challenges or acts of kindness to celebrate SLC’s 15th anniversary.
The team, comprising of members from commercial, project management, engineering, and communications, showcased the multidisciplinary spirit of SLC by coming together from different specialisms to tackle this epic challenge.
For most of the participants, this was their first experience of such an event. However, their determination and teamwork allowed them to complete the course in approximately two hours, overcoming 30 obstacles, including cargo nets, scaling walls, crawling through tunnels, balancing on slack lines, and wading through deep mud ponds and pits.
Jermaine Cunningham, Head of Commercial said: “Teamwork and collaboration are crucial for us in all our projects, and this event was a fantastic opportunity to face a different type of challenge together. It also served as an excellent kick-off for our ’15 for 15 Years’ initiative, all while raising money for a worthy cause.”
